@madokama: @madokama: Oh, i know the orginial track from Smoochy album... but this classical version is absolute wonderful... ;)
Comment by pianozero
@madokama: The theme is so simple and beautiful you can play it in many ways. The ability to arrange it , the taste typical of Sakamato is superb in this piece.

@pianozero: wow, that's very interesting! The point is, it apparently happened by accident. Also, the way it evolved from its original Pop style is amazing: http://youtu.be/gbMOz1z9TEE

@madokama: Yes, you are right. As an italian I can say this piece touches some very fragile part of the latin heart. Maybe the wide horizont it depicts and the contemporary sense of nostalgia. The fact is this piece in marvellous.

@scienceteheran: thanks! I remembered Sakamoto once said he received unusually enthusiastic response when he played this song in Italy. Maybe it has something to appeal to south european people.

@madokama: Sorry, let me correct my English, 'I transcribed Ryuichi's live performance to the score'.
Comment by madokama
@stephan-beneking: thank you so much! Yes, I did both. I even transcribed the score, too. It was so mind-boggling but now I'm pretty happy with the outcome :)
Comment by Stephan Beneking

Bibo No Aozora
First recorded in 1996, Bibo, is one of Ryuichi Sakamoto’s most famous pieces. The film Babel, directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu, brought the song to the larger public conscience in 2006. Bibo No Aozora is used in the film’s finale.
My version in the video above, is structurally based on the shorter ‘Babel cut’ of the song — but played in Sakamoto’s loose style from his 2010 piano record, UTAU.

Gear Used
For Bibo No Aozora, I used my Cordoba GK Studio. My strings are Savarez Red Card 520R — which play and sound great if you play with your finger-tips (not nails) like I do. You can find a complete list of my gear here.
How to play Bibo No Aozora for classical guitar
(Note: This is my premium material. Please join my email list to be updated on all of my latest guitar tabs.)
I wanted to create an arrangement of this song that was doable — no only for myself — but intermediate guitar players. I want us to play, have fun, and get results immediately. I looked to Ryuichi Sakamoto’s solo piano arrangement for guidance. It’s loose, jazzy, and has a little more breathing room than the Babel version.
The guitar tab for Bibo No Aozora is beautifully written across two pages. You’ll play straight through both pages twice, then stop where it says End on the second go-around.
Enjoy, the guitar tab is available below:
Bibo No Aozora is played in standard tuning.
